This past Sunday night, March 22, 2020, a number of Black Bookstore owners, book distributors, and publishers convened a Zoom town hall to discuss our response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This community conversation welcomed in readers and writers, publishers, the media, and more to discuss the challenges and solutions to ensure the long-term success of Black Bookstores beyond the current global crisis. With up to 300 attendees, people across the internet chimed in with various thoughts and opinions. Calvin Reid, a writer for Publishers Weekly covered the conference call for his publication.
