This past weekend, on May 13, 2017, on the eve of Mother’s Day, MahoganyBooks hosted Billboard-charted, NAACP Image award-nominated jazz musician, author, entrepreneur, and educator Marcus Johnson for an event at Jirani Coffeehouse in historic Manassas, VA. This event billed as an evening of “Books, Wine, & Jazz” was another example of how MahoganyBooks excels at providing literary experiences that inspire, empower, and entertain.
Event tickets included an autographed book, heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts by Inspired Cravings. Each type of dessert was designed to be paired with the three featured wines offered by FLO.
Ultimately, what truly set the night apart as a MahoganyBooks literary experience was the combination of Marcus’ live musical performance and the discussion about the success principles detailed in his book, For the Love of…. Written as a self-development book to help individuals live their most fulfilled life, For the Love of…, helps readers identify and create plans to pursue their passions. It’s a book every person should read at least once and would make the perfect gift high school and college graduates.
“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you realize why you were born.” – For the Love of… by Marcus Johnson, page 124
